Swansea Marina

Another fine day dawned on Sunday, 29th June 2014 for our latest field trip to Swansea Marina. Four of us met in the car park opposite Tesco at 8.30am. Tony Llewellyn was the token male long with myself, Margie & Dorothy. We had a leisurely walk around taking some great shots of reflections, best time for this as so quiet. Tony obligingly posed next to the Dylan Thomas mural at the theatre, was difficult to spot the difference between the two! (Only joking Tony, lol).

We spent some time at the barrage where Tony , not content with standing on the bridge, did his best Spiderman impression by climbing onto & taking shots from the side of the bridge. At this point a jogger crossing the bridge was very rude to us ladies asking how much "beeping" room we wanted. Don't think he would have been so brave if Tony had been standing there. A need for some refreshment followed so we all made our way to the Grape & Olive for tea, coffee & cake. There are some excellent views from the top so we spent some time with our cameras pressed up against the windows to obtain some great shots.

After leaving the Grape & Olive we walked to the beach where we took some group shots. We stood with the Grape & Olive behind us with our hand outstretched to look as if the building was balanced on our hands whilst Tony took our photos. We walked past the Observatory where we had some good shots before deciding to head to the Pumphouse for some lunch. As we walked towards it we saw a horse & rider crossing the swingbridge, not a common sight in the Marina.

We had a lovely lunch & some liquid refreshment, a good chat about our day & looked at our pictures. A good way to end our day, a very enjoyable time had by all of us.
