Morriston

Trip to Llandudno, August 2012

This year, Morriston Camera Club's annual three day trip was to Llandudno, North Wales. We started out bright(?) and early from Edwards depot in Llansamlet. We made our way to Ludlow by a sometime scenic route, reaching the town mid morning. Ludlow was definitely in a celebrartery mood with bunting everywhere with a background of some lovely half timbered buildings.

The coach then made for the idyllic Snowdonia village of Betws y Coed for refreshments and a brief look around before heading up the Conwy Valley to the Chatsworth House Hotel in Llandudno. The hotel was well situated on the sea front near the town centre. After a good meal at the hotel, the fine evening allowed a stroll along the promonade and pier.

After breakfast on Saturday the coach took the party on a trip to Chester, returning via Llangollen and Conwy.

After another hearty breakfast, a trip by the historic tramcar to the top of the Great Orme took up Sunday morning, after which we started for home via Dibbley's mammoth garden centre, Tintern and the Wye valley and "The New Inn", Pwll Meyrick for our Sunday Roast. A trip along the M4 brought us back to depot.

Everyone enjoyed the trip and full of praise for Richard Walters, our secretary who had organised another very successful trip. Well done Richard, we are all in your debt.
