Our annual three day trip this year was based in Bournemouth, with visits to Salisbury, Swanage Railway, Corfe Castle, Swanage and the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yoevilton.

We started off just after 8.30am on the Friday from Edward’s Coaches depot in Llansamlet in a super coach. We were soon on our way and after a brief stop at the Magor Services, a quiz was produced, with questions on chocolate. This was won by Alan Cosker.

Next stop was Salisbury with it’s wonderful cathedral. Our time was spent exploring Salisbury and having lunch and then we were off to our final destination of the day, Bournemouth and the Trouville Hotel. We had plenty of time to settle in before we were served a delicious dinner.

After dinner it was down to the front for a fireworks display, which was enjoyed by all.

Next morning after enjoining a good (early) breakfast we were off to the Swanage Railway at Norden Station for the brief journey to Corfe Castle. The station and village was a delight. Some visited the castle, but the majority just took in the atmosphere of the village and church. Back on the train it was off again to Swanage for the afternoon before traveling back by train to Norden for the coach back to our hotel.

Sunday morning, again it was breakfast and off on the coach. The party then split into two groups, one visiting the Fleet Air Arm Museum, and others went on to Street for some retail therepy.

Back on the coach, another quiz was produced, this time with general knowledge questions (which was won by the Fry's) We reached Chepstow and our Evening meal, being greeted by good Welsh rain. The meal proved to be delicious with very large portions.

The coach arrived back in Llansamlet about 9:30pm.

Another very enjoyable three days thanks to Richard ably assisted by Marie and overseen by our treasurer Ellis. A big thanks to all, and we look forward to next year.
